Acupressure Points To Relief From Periods Pain | Twelve Meridian

Wondering how to stop periods pain at home. Let me share a story. It was a bright day outside and a good sight to start the day with. But little did I know that the painful date was exactly a month before, giving me indications that I have to ride the rollercoaster through the painful week and make it to the other end. But unlike other females, my periods are not bearable. The cramps beginning onwards from the first day tied me to the bed, and me looking like a blanket fold into myself, holding my aching belly, hoping to get some sign of relief.
I know ladies, we all have to spare a week in each month, decreasing our overall productivity. We experiment with all the cures, from hot bags to painkillers. But we all know it’s going to affect us in some way or the other.

About Menstruation

Let us throw some light upon the beautiful phenomenon, menstruation, commonly known as periods or chums(i use it a lot with my sister). Menstrual is derived from the Latin word meaning menstrualis, meaning “month”. The word was later used to describe the monthly flow of blood from the uterus. The menstrual cycle is the regular natural change that occurs in the female reproductive system that makes pregnancy possible. The cycle is required for the production of oocytes or eggs and the preparation of the uterus for pregnancy. The menstrual cycle occurs due to the rise and fall of estrogen. This cycle results in the thickening of the lining of the uterus, and the growth of an egg, (which is required for pregnancy). The egg is released from an ovary around day fourteen in the cycle; the thickened lining of the uterus provides nutrients to an embryo after implantation. If pregnancy does not occur, the lining is released in what is known as menstruation or a “period”.

Okay okay, enough of the technicalities, I know most of you are waiting for the topic of the day, CRAMPS also called dysmenorrhea. You all might be thinking why the hell this happens. Although this is a painful period for most of my readers, it is important to shed the inner lining of the uterus which ultimately results in blood flow.

The most common solution to the pain is a hot electric bag. Yes, it may not be the most promising solution, but it doesn’t have side effects. Some prefer painkillers that suppress the pain to a great extent. But ladies, the pain in the body indicates that the body is not in its best form, i.e., something or the other is wrong in the body and needs to be diagnosed and cured.

Being an acupressurist, I will share with you some acupressure points that will not only reduce your menstrual pain instantly but will also cure dysmenorrhea in the long run, but only if you are sincere with yourself.
